wikiafrica:Mantova 2007: differenze tra le versioni

In occasione del Festivaletteratura di Mantova, la Fondazione lettera27 presenta una serie di workshop per contribuire alle voci africane di Wikipedia e rendere concreto e visibile il funzionamento della più nota enciclopedia internet: incontri e discussioni reali tra autori creeranno dal vivo nuove voci virtuali di WikiAfrica.

I workshop produrranno nuovi contenuti per Wikipedia attraverso un processo di scrittura collaborativa realizzata online e offline. Un relatore introdurrà un argomento, i partecipanti contribuiranno alla migliore definizione della voce e un amministratore di Wikipedia fornirà informazioni sulla formattazione e sulle regole dei progetti Wiki; durante il workshop, i redattori di lettera27 inseriranno i contenuti online, mentre un operatore filmerà l'evento.

WikiAfrica Mantova si propone come spazio di approfondimento sui temi e sulle forme narrative della produzione culturale dell'Africa (focus su letteratura, arti visive, confini, oralità) nonché naturalmente, sul controverso enciclopedismo di Wikipedia.

Durante Festivaletteratura di Mantova sarà inoltre presentata l'iniziativa WikiAfrica Postcard e Bar WikiAfrica.

I workshop si svolgeranno a Mantova tra il 7 e il 9 settembre 2007 e si inscrivono all'interno di WikiAfrica, un progetto che punta ad africanizzare Wikipedia.

Sede

I workshop avranno sede nel centro di Mantova nella chiesa sconsacrata della Madonna della Vittoria in via Fernelli. La chiesa può ospitare circa 50 persone.

Durata e giorni dei workshop

Ogni workshop avrà la durata di circa due ore e i workshop si svolgeranno da venerdì 7 a domenica 9 settembre:

• venerdì 7 settembre, 15.00-17.00: WikiAfrica:Mantova 2007/Letteratura e Oralità
• sabato 8 settembre, 11.00-13.00: WikiAfrica:Mantova 2007/Arte
• sabato 8 settembre, 17:30-19.30: WikiAfrica:Mantova 2007/Connessioni
• domenica 9 settembre, 11.00-13.00: WikiAfrica:Mantova 2007/Confini
• domenica 9 settembre, 15.00-17.00: WikiAfrica:Mantova 2007/Progetto Confini

Gruppi di lavoro

In base alle persone che abbiamo contattato abbiamo strutturato i workshop di Mantova in 5 aree tematiche che corrispondono a dei gruppi di lavoro:

1. letteratura e narrazioni orali in Africa
2. arte letteratura scrittura
3. Wikipedia, Africa, WikiAfrica
4. confini: voce e progetto

L'idea era di raggruppare le persone in una o più aree tematiche in base ai loro interessi. Le aree tematiche altrettanti workshop, oppure - se le aree tematiche non corrispondono realmente agli interessi dei relatori e partecipanti invitati - più workshop saranno realizzati nelle stesse aree tematiche.

Struttura dei workshop

Ogni workshop ha un gruppo di lavoro composto da più persone:

• un relatore: persona che seleziona la voce o le voci di wikipedia sulle quali tutti lavoreranno e che dà il primo ed essenziale impulso al workshop. Il relatore sarà invitato a redigere un breve testo iniziale che presenterà durante il workshop e che sarà utilizzato come punto di partenza per stimolare il dibattito.
• un correlatore: persona che affianca il relatore facilitando e sostenendo il suo lavoro e punto di vista
• dei discussant: persone che partecipano attivamente al workshop, integrando/criticando/confermando la documentazione presentata da relatore e correlatore
• un tecnico/amministratore di Wikipedia: persona che spiega come funziona wikipedia e il suo regolamento, osserva se la documentazione è adatta o meno a diventare una voce di wikipedia e che migliora la formattazione e l'editing dei contenuti
• un coordinatore L27: promotore o esperto della Fondazione lettera27 che introdurrà il workshop e i partecipanti e faciliterà/stimolerà le discussioni e il dibattito dando la parola ai diversi partecipanti
• tre redattori: tre persone che in tempo reale inseriscono la documentazione oggetto del workshop su wikipedia. Il redattore1 si occuperà di inserire la documentazione prodotta dal relatore e dal correlatore; il redattore2 inserirà le correzioni del tecnico/amministratore di wikipedia; il redattore3 inserirà i contributi dei partecipanti/discussant
• un operatore video filmerà il workshop

In conjunction with the Festivaletteratura of Mantua, the lettera27 Foundation is organizing a series of workshops that will contribute new African entries to Wikipedia, providing a concrete and fully visible view of the operation of the Internet's best known encyclopedia: meetings and discussions involving various authors will create, on-site and in real time, new online articles in WikiAfrica.

The workshops will produce new Wikipedia content through a collaborative writing process that will take place both on- and off-line. Two keynote speakers will introduce a topic, the participants will contribute to the fine-tuning and improvement of the various entries, and a Wikipedia administrator will provide information concerning the formatting and rules of Wiki projects; the lettera27 editors will upload the contents, putting them online in real time, while a camerman will film the event as it unfolds.

WikiAfrica Mantua is intended as a space in which to explore in depth the themes and narrative forms of Africa's cultural production (focusing on literature, the visual arts, boundaries, and the oral tradition) as well as a forum, naturally enough, for a discussion of Wikipedia's controversial encyclopedism.

The workshops will be held in Mantua from September 7th to 9th, 2007, and will be part of WikiAfrica, a project intended to help "Africanize" Wikipedia.

Location

The workshop will take place in the city centre of Mantua, via Fernelli. The building can host around 50 people.

Duration and Days

Each workshop will last around 2 hours. The workshops will take place from Friday the 7th to Sunday the 9th of September.

Thematic Working Groups

According to the people we contacted, we started organising the workshops in 5 thematic working groups:

1. literature and oral narratives in Africa
2. art literature writing
3. Wikipedia, Africa, WikiAfrica
4. boundaries: article and project

The idea is to link the participants in one or more thematic groups according to their interests. Each thematic group will produce a workshop, or eventually more if the working groups don't give rise to the same interest among the people contacted.

Structure of the Workshops

Each workshop will be implemented by a working group made of:

• keynote speaker 1: He/she selects the article or the articles of wikipedia which will become the focus of the workshop. He/she introduces the topic and gives the first impulse to the workshop. The keynote speaker will be asked to deliver a short paper before the workshop: the paper will be the starting point for the debate.
• keynote speaker 2: He/she works with the keynote speaker 1; he/she facilitates and supports the work and point of view of the keynote speaker 1.
• discussants: the active participants of the workshop contribute to the fine-tuning and improvement of the articles. They integrate/criticise/confirm the documentation and the arguments presented by the keynote speaker 1/2.
• Wikipedia administrator: he/she provides information concerning the formatting and rules of Wiki projects and he/she improves the editing of the articles.
• Co-ordinator L27: a promoter or expert of lettera27 Foundation. He/she introduces the workshop and the participants. He/she facilitates/stimulates the discussion and the debate
• Three Editors: three editors uploads the contents on Wikipedia, putting them online in real time. One editor uploads the contents of the keynote speakers; one the contents of the discussants; and one the contents of the Wikipedia administrator.
• A cameraman films the event as it unfolds.
