The Associazione Wikimedia Italia is the official Italian chapter of the Wikimedia Foundation, Inc.

It was founded on June 17th, 2005 in the office of Notary Adriano Castaldi in Canino from the 18 founding associates. The day after, in Valentano, the first assembly of the members was held. The associates ratified to the unanimity the members of the Consiglio Direttivo (Board) and outlined the guidelines of the future activities of the Association.

Associates

• The association had 18 members at the foundation.
• The association had 39 members in 2005.
• The association counts 62 members in 2006.
